Inner Peace
From: Snippets of my Imagination
Dedicated To “ALL” Our Heroes
by Ann Crystal
Together they stand,
side by side as one,
and while diversity still holds strong,
a team they form,
in each other, trust must be held.
In their pockets, photographs are kept,
of those waiting for their safe return.
And it is we, who are the faces in their photographs,
who must remember to try and keep the peace,
for they return from one battle to another,
between neighborhoods,
between husband and wife, children and siblings,
from those we name relatives to complete strangers on the street.
Should we not be ashamed?
Can we not find the peace to stand side by side,
together as one?
To honor those who are in true war,
our soldiers who keep in their pockets,
photographs of those waiting for their safe return.
